kat keys.
this locksmith has been in downtown st. paul forever. it's the kind of old school place you don't see much of anymore these days...like a fan shop or something...they just disappear over time.
two buddies...(sort of)
it's strange having two dogs that don't really like other dogs so in theory they shouldn't really like each other. they'll hangout but I think they just put up with each other because they have to, but i'm sure both would be perfectly happy being an only dog.
two buddies.
followed these two for a bit around the lake and they walked glued side to side the whole time. I bet they are always inseparable like that.
are we in the middle of nowhere yet?
that's what I used to ask my parents when we'd take road trips. I'm guessing when they started seeing barns they answered yes to my question.
"Chinese"
there is noting wrong with bad American Chinese food. I don't kid myself for a second that that big plate of celery filled gloppyness resembles anything remotely authentic. unless we're talking about egg foo young, that stuff is real...right?
damn right I can cook.
if by cook you mean dropping some blueberries on top of a graham cracker and stuffing them in my mouth, which by the way is DAMN awesome.
jewelry repair.
I always see this person working in the window of a jewelry shop downtown. her world is on such a small scale, I can barely see the parts she's working with. her view of the world must be pretty interesting when she looks up from the magnifying glass and looks out at the big busy downtown streets.
hardware store.
sadly this cool old place is no longer open, but the sign is still there reminding us that we'd all rather go to soulless big-box stores and let the little guy dry up and die off...taking good service with him which is why I refuse to spend any money at the home depots of the world.
big dude.
saw this dude walking down the street in front of our office and he was HUGE, but he had a normal sized skinny persons head and he didn't look very old. that creeped me out. and he had to stop and hold on to a building to take a break from walking.
neil young.
went to see neil young a few days ago. amazing show. that dude is something else. he played a solo show which is cool but mostly made me hope he hits the road with crazy horse and does a blowout power rock show sometime soon.
look out!
yesterday I saw this old dude pushing his own wheelchair trying to cross one of the busiest streets in the city against the light in rush hour traffic. I can't believe the old guy made it across alive.
